Neema Griffin is a Chicago-native and class of 2023 Spelman College graduate holding a BA in documentary filmmaking. While at Spelman, she double minored in Spanish and writing, focusing on how the African diasporic experience is captured through art. Her notable achievements include serving on the AUC Camera Collective Executive Board, organizing the inaugural AUC Art Showcase, and serving as a TA for the documentary media production course taught by Professor Julie Dash.

 

She's also been recognized as a National Geographic Scholar, Gotham Executive Leadership mentee, Spelman College research day presenter, and Georgia Power Rising Star. Last summer, she interned at Tyler Perry Studios and studied abroad in Havana, Cuba.

 

Neema continues to work on a series of documentary, scripted, and videography projects. She is Adobe Premiere Certified and Drone Pilot Certified. Her ambition is to be a part of the progressive movement that is producing meaningful, inclusive projects that share the transformative stories of real people and their experiences through film, and to be the catalyst of meaningful change through her work.
